These were the toilets which about 1000 people would share. Cleaning these was the best job you could be given. You would be warm, you would smell so the officers wouldn’t come near you and it was quiet. Here people plotted uprisings against the Nazis, it was the only place that they could openly talk to each other because the officers would not want to come anywhere near the block.
